Good day,

I cannot change the default Project site to the template I created. What am I doing wrong?

Any suggestions please?

You need to update the EPT. Go to Server Settings in PWA, Open EPT that us marked as default, scroll to the bottom and select your template. if it is not there - you might need to activate template first.
